RAM Laboratories, Inc., awarded Contract from the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)
San Diego, CA - January 25th, 2007 - San Diego based RAM Laboratories is pleased to announce that the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) has awarded the company a contract to develop integrated hardware and software Anti-Tamper technologies. The contract is in conjunction with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at the Wright Research Site in Dayton, OH. If all options are exercised, the total value of the contract will be worth $900,000.
For OSD/AFRL, RAM Laboratories will be developing novel hardware-assisted software anti-tamper solutions that can be applied to embedded applications. This Anti-Tamper technology will prohibit reverse engineering of critical military systems, if they were to fall into the hands of the country’s adversaries. Specifically, the research entails developing a PCI-based security manager that can monitor and guide software code for embedded applications. RAM Laboratories will be utilizing COTS embedded processing solutions to develop a solution set that can also be applied to commodity processing platforms. In a statement regarding this state-of-the-art research opportunity, Dr. Richard MacDonald, RAM Laboratories President/CEO, stated that “This technology will not only allow RAM Laboratories to provide measures of protection that will secure the Nation’s technological superiority, but it can also be applied to commercial embedded applications wherever security is highly desirable.”
