RAM Laboratories Awarded Contract to Improve Satellite Bandwidth Management
San Diego, CA - Feb 27th, 2009 - RAM Laboratories is pleased to announce that the company has been selected for a contract award by the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Command to develop both planning algorithms and planning algorithm enhancements that support the management of satellite communication links in the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS). New advanced planning algorithms will improve the reliability and efficiency of satellite link management and help maximize satellite bandwidth that can be delivered world-wide to U.S. mobile forces.
MUOS is a next-generation narrowband tactical satellite communications system that will provide significantly improved assured communications for the mobile warfighter. MUOS will replace the current Ultra High Frequency Follow-On (UFO) narrowband tactical satellite communications system. MUOS satellites will be fully compatible with the existing UFO system and associated legacy terminals while dramatically increasing military communications availability and providing simultaneous voice, data and video in real time to mobile warfighters stationed around the world.
