Distributed Information Management: Managing data is key to taking advantage of todayís net-centric environments. RAM Laboratoriesí data management strategy provides filtering and aggregation mechanisms that can be applied to information management networks to handle multi-level distribution and dissemination of messages across the network. Our data management strategy can also be applied to resolving disparities with data flowing between mixtures of heterogeneous domains, systems, and networks.
Adaptive Routing Solutions: Challenged environments, cyber attacks, and high priority operations may hinder networks in achieving performance goals for a given domain. Our engineers are developing innovative adaptive routing technologies and algorithms that route messages based on content, network state, connectivity, priority and network health to optimize QoS throughout the range of tactical network environments.
Quality of Service Enhancement: As distributed networks are used to support communication in mobile and challenged environments, their ability to meet performance guarantees has an impact on achieving mission readiness goals. These solutions include routing, bulk delivery, and priority-based messaging solutions. Our scientists are also developing algorithms that implement and integrate novel fault tolerant solutions with existing QoS-based approaches to address performance challenges over potentially faulty environments.
Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET): Mobile Ad Hoc Networks are a staple in supporting the DoDís net-centric vision by providing flexible and reliable communications to forward deployed units in the field. RAM Laboratories is developing techniques that support improved connectivity for MANET environments through our work with directed antenna and QoS enhancement efforts.
Publish-Subscribe Networks: RAM Laboratories engineers are developing scalable subscription management techniques that match information publishers to information subscribers in publish-subscribe networks. RAM Laboratories' staff has implemented a distributed publish-subscribe environment that routes messages based on subject types and content filtering. Our approaches are being applied to both centralized and distributed publish-subscribe information brokered systems across branches of the DoD.
